Are there any n or ho scale trams for sale in the Frankfurt Germany area?
What hobby shops to visit?
Does anyone still make them ?
Thanks,

Sorry I cant help you with the models but if you are planning to visit Frankfurt there used to be a great tram musuem at Schwanheim, just out of Frankfurt, I presume it is still there though it is some years ago that I visited it. You take the tram to get there too!
I don’t know if they are still in business, but there used to be a train store in downtown Frankfurt between 1980-83 when I was stationed there, near the Hauptbahnhoff (Main Train Station).
Go to the McDonald’s restaurant across the street in front of the Bahnhoff. Stand as if you were exiting McDonalds, turn to your left, walk down to the first corner, and turn left at the corner. The hobby shop was along that street, near the middle of the block. They had a lot of HO and N scale models in the front windows.
Just be sure you understand whether the models you purchase are made to run on 2 or 3 rail, and whether AC or DC. And take lots and lots of German Marks. Despite what the credit card companies would like for you to believe, only major hotels and restaurants that cater to foreigners take credit cards. Good luck.
It’s been a long time since I was there. The best way to find one is to get on a trolly or street car and keep your eyes open. I used to know where several of them was But that was 20 years ago. Get on a street car and ride.!!!
One of the stores I used to frequent in Frankfurt was Hobby Haas, Braubachstrasse 36, Fft/main. The phone # was (0611) 29 15 65. This was about 10 or 12 years ago. There’s another shop down near the Roemer.
If you go to the Hauptbahhof (main train station) find a book/magazine shop there and look for “Eisenbahn Magazin” or any othergerman model magazine, in the back of the magazines you’ll find a list of hobby shops just like you would in Model Railroader. Don’t forget to include Offenbach (a suburb of Frankfurt) in your search.
Many thanks to all.
My Daughter and grandchildren are visiting her Husband on deployment near Frankfurt.
They promised me a trolley ( my MR pasion) from Germany. So since they didnt know anything about Frankfurt or ModelEisenbahn stores in the area I was asking my friends here (you folks) if anyone knew.
Most sincere thanks again
Doug, in Utah.
