I think that many commuter coaches do have 33" wheels. Since the ones I got shipped with 33" ones. I recalled someone in this forum mention that modern passenger coaches have 36’ wheels. I’m confused
Amtrak Psgr cars use 36" wheels–as did intercity psgr cars before Amtrak. Commuter coaches probably vary depending on manufacturer, RR specs, etc. I believe you will find both sizes in commuter and maybe even smaller in light rail.

As far as I recall, all of my passenger cars came with 36" wheels, and all of my freight cars came with 33" wheels.
