HO Con Cor Pass. Diaphragms/ Couplers

Building some Con Cor passenger kits, wondering what company makes the best between-car diaphragm (sorry, I’m pretty sure I spelled that wrong) ?

On that note, does anybody know offhand what Kadee coupler would work for switching out the couplers?

For starters you may wi***o visit www.kadee.com/conv/list.htm

I’m thinking, does walthers still make diaphrams or was it IHC?

Ron,
American Limited are some of the best operating diaphrams I have used. Not sure if they are made for Con Cor or can be adapted to fit. After selecting a diaphram then position kadee boxes w/ apropriate coupler (#36 long centerset or #38 med centerset). Box placement and shank length gives you many options for proper spacing. Remember that close coupling to operate/ touch diaphram faces can cause binding or derailments on radiuses smaller than 36" to 42". Faces need not touch if this is the case, but they sure look great when they can operate properly. Occasionally a sticking diaphram face can be lubed by burnishing graphite on the trouble spots. Good luck on your passenger train.

thanks for the advice, Bob. I’ll be experimenting over the next few months.
