ho double track bridge

hello. i am looking for an double track bridge, at least 3 feet long and would like to have code 100 track on it. can anyone tell me where to look or buy such an item. thank you

You may have to custom build it. The longest double bridge i know of is the swing bridge from walthers but that is only 2ft 3in long.

I don’t know about a 36" bridge, but Walthers Cornerstone Series makes a 15" double-track truss bridge.

I have two of them forming a 30" span on my layout. You can put down any Code track you like on the bridge.

I briefly searched the Walthers catalog site for such an animal. Although they do list 18" bridges, {of which two together would cover your three feet}, they are out of stock and unclear as to whether single or double track, HOWEVER they seem to all be “out of stock” and unavailable.

There are several other model RR vendors, and I did not wade through all of them, but I think you will find you may have to scratch build one that long to your specifications, or from kit bashing a few bridges together for the desired result you are looking for.

A google search turned up a single track 23" long, 5" high bridge…AND a 33" double track Ho scale Rochester-Beaver Railroad bridge here: http://www.trustdeal4you.com/HOBB-HW.html it is the 8th bridge down.

Good luck.

Wow, and it is under $1,200.00 !!!

Can’t wait to see the OP’s reaction to this link.

Having said that, it is one helluva bridge.

You can have multiiple bridge spans with piers connecting them. That will provide the length without buying that nearly $1200 bridge. I have done that with Walthers double track bridge.

hello and thank you all for the replies. i will look into these suggestions. thanks again

Check this one out listed at 4’

I knew I had seen that bridge some where before it’s a Faller p/n F-120535 Bietschtal Bridge,for a bit cheaper at $89.27

You never mentioned what type of bridge your looking for, a steel bridge a wood trestle, a stone viaduct bridge. What is the bridge spanning a river a canyon a dray river bed? What era, what part of the country etc. Thee are a lot of good custom kit manufacturers as well as some reasonably priced builder who will either sell you all the components you need to traverse any span you want to build you one and you just put it in place.

If your interested in a stone viaduct, there is a guy in Langhorne Pa. Model Railroad Stone works who makes a beautiful hydrocal kit of the Starrucca Viaduct which measures 40-3/4" for $175.95 and you can even add an extension which will bring it up to 48-1/2" long, but you better have some strong bench work as that sucker is going to weigh a lot.

Yes, and he does really nice work. His bridges are beautiful. He does all sorts of bridges, mostly PRR-inspired he says, but obviously other stuff as well. He says he just enjoys making them and then has nowhere to put them so he sells them. Whether that’s true or not, its all good with me-- I keep thinking about buying one of his bridges, they are really nice looking.
