HO Passenger Car Lighting

I have a 1930’s Rivarossi observation car that I am modifying and detailing. I have spent a lot of time painting and altering the car to look like the Missouri Pacific observation and I would like to add a decent lighting kit. I have not been able to get much information on the different lighting kits and how accurate they look. I would love to use the Kato or Walthers drop in kit, but my car doesn’t come with the wipers I would need. I am therefore interested in the Jay Bee lighting kit but have been unable to find any diagrams or pictures showing the parts and how they work. I would have thought Jay Bee would have a website but so far I have had no luck. Has anyone ever used this lighting kit and If so what do you think?

I have old 1920’s pass cars from AHM. IHC lighting kits worked fine in them. If these are newer Riv. cars I’m not sure. IHC sells the lighting in several ways. With or without the pickups, wheels, etc. they have pictures of the kits although their not the best to see. www.ihc-hobby.com May give you some ideas.

Greetings,

I have a new set of GN 1930 cars and was wondering how to get the roof off without damage? Any advice on the easiest way to remove the roof?

Thanks,

Mark in Texas

walthers makes a lighting kit for Rivarossi cars, Check www.walthers.com you’ll find one that fits them there.

One of those 2 should fit your needs. if not do a search for “lighting kits” on walthers and you’ll see many more, even some generic ones for use.

I would like to know is there any interiors made to fit into the Walthers Amleet coaches and what type of lighting can be used?
