HO scale printed laserjet awnings

First time trying out awnings for structures (HO). I created this in Photoshop (stains and all), printed on med-laser stock. Built a small styrene support frame and CA’d the paper to that (the small bleeds of CA helped the weathered effect). Then simply used thinned acrylic matte black for a bit more stains. Last step was to use a Dremel with a sanding bit to scuff the edges, fringe, and profile curve to get a canvas effect.

Jharr,

If you have not received one yet, [#welcome] To The Forums!

You also did a, ‘‘fantastic’’ job, on the awning and building. Thanks for sharing.

Cheers, [D]

Frank

Look Fantastic!

jharr:

Your awning looks pretty good. Very nicely weathered. The rest of the building looks really good too. I especially like the curtains/blinds detail. It adds a lot of realism.

If I may, the only minor suggestion I would make is to glue a strip of styrene to the bottom of the back of the awning where it sits against the building so that it stays straight. Not trying to be uppity here, just an observation.

By the way, welcome to the forums. Please continue to share your work.

Are you aware that you have two posts on the same subject? You might want to contact the moderators to see if they can role it all into one thread (not sure if that is possible) or simply eliminate one of the two threads so everyone can follow all the posts to your thread in one place. No big deal.

Nice work! What did you use for the original artwork in Photoshop?
