Can some one tell me the measurements on building Ho scale stairs?
Simply use a tape measure or ruler to measure the stairs which you wish to model, then use your scale rule to measure and cut the material you’re using.
While I have scratchbuilt stairs in the past, I generally prefer to use those offered by Central Valley. One package gives you a selection of cut or closed stringers and stairs with or without risers, along with a variety of ladders. Various railings are included, too.
I used the CV stairs on this coal dealer’s bunker:

scale 7 in rise, scale 10-11 in tread depth
If you’re looking for wooden risers and treads, check out the sets from Micro-Mark. Their part # 84059 for the stringers and # 83957 for the basswood strips for the treads. These work pretty slick, and the stinger set includes some forms to hold the stringers parallel while you glue the treads.

I agree. I’ve tried to scratchbuild steps. With some success, too. But for the trouble it takes, I won’t do it again. In addition to the suggestions above, Plastruct also carries prefab stair kits.
I order some from here

That’s the ones which he’s ordered, and the same ones which are shown in the picture which I posted. [swg]
