HOn3 rerailer

Hi all, I have had a problem with putting my HOn3 locomotives and cars on the track.
On my standard gauge I used a plastic rerailer ramp.
It’s a bit of an overhang on the narrow gauge equipment, so you can’t easily grab the trucks to rerail them…
I heard that there was a commercially made rerailer ramp available, but I haven’t seen one in many years.
I then designed this:

I designed it in Fusion 360 and printed it in PLA on my Wanhao Duplicator 4S.
It works really good:

Wow, I am impressed.Looks like you are ready to start a small business there. Is it fragile?

Simon

Thanks, no it isn’t so fragile. But I have uploaded it to Shapeways now to be printed in white, strong and flexible… https://www.shapeways.com/product/M54VV6YUT/hon3-rerailer?optionId=64950183&li=shop-inventory

It has some changes made to minimize the materials used (to reduce printing cost).

Ys, I have several of Doug’s TT&H HOn3 rerailers. A good product at a very fair price. However, with shipping, customs and other potential costs, for many around the world a print-it-yourself or other options with Graff’s design may make it a good option on cost in some locations.

Yup, it would cost me roughly $35 to buy a rerailer from the states, the advantage of Shapeways is that they manufacture both in USA and Europe. There are differences between my design and the plastic one also…

Thanks for referencing this. I wanted one of those, and that shop is not far from me.
