I’m looking for help in finding photos of, or even any information about an unusual MOW car, D&RGW 8517. The only reference I have ever seen of this car is a single photo on Wikipedia. It is a flat car with a large timber-constructed clearance gauge mounted in the center of it. I would appreciate any help that you can roll my way!

I thought the very same thing about the car. Though after more time searching online then I should admit to, I’m not sure that I would call it a “good one” at this point! I have been pouring through the drgw.net site too, and I did find the road numbers of their MOW equipment by looking under “Rosters” and then selecting the “Summeries of Equipment”. And, I can’t see any listing for a car with that road number.
So, I will continue my online searching, and will continue to welcome any help that might be available!
