Hornby HO scale Holden B12 steam locomotive

Not a comment really, but a story not entirely OT:
Many years ago – early to mid 1960s – when my mother and I were shopping at the doowntown Milwaukee Gimbels Department store, in the toy department they had a tall stack of train sets, from Hornby DublO. It was an oval of bullhead rail sectional track with snap-in electric terminal connection, a tall-drivered 0-6-0 tank engine with plastic boiler and cab and decent detail, and two painted tin red coaches. The box cover had a really nice painting of a British steam scene. The price of the entire train set was $2.99. My mother bought one set at my request even though I did not model British trains (but was in HO). Now of course I wish she’d bought the entire stack! By the way the Hornby engine had flange problems running through my Atlas Code 100 snap track switches so I generally set it up on its own track to run. A few years ago I set it up under the Christmas tree and it still ran nicely but was dismayed to see one of the hugely oversized couplers had cracked off at some point.

Bachmann sells replacement couplers for their Thomas line. I’ve read that they will fit british models, if that does not work CA will fix it if the part is there.

WHERE DO I GO TO GET PRICING AND AVAILABILITY OF THE PRODUCTS LISTED IN THE “READERS REVIEW” I’M QUITE INTERESTED IN THE HORNBY B 12 HO STEAM LOCO REVIEWED ABOVE. THANKS. BRUCE HART

The Holden B12 cannot be purchased in the states from Hornby USA. I purchased mine off of ebay

The B12 is a favourite of mine but I would have thought it is OO at 4mm = 1ft not HO 3.5mm = 1ft, this makes the Hornby products too large on my HO layout.

I have Been looking for a ho scale british engine for a long time to run on my layout. Although I model an American railroad it would be fun to run a british loco now and then. The problem is that oo is way to big to look real on a ho scale layout.

great model, there is many reviews of it on youtube!

Is this locomotive HO or OO scale?
