Hello All,
I have a bit of Hornby Dublo 3 rail rolling stock.
Do the 3 rail locomotives run on AC,or DC power?
And will they work on Marklin stud contact track?
Thanks,
Carl T.

Hi Choochin3
No idea but if you do a web search for the Hornby collectors club in the UK they can probably answer your questions and also tell you where you can get some replica spares if you need them or at least point you in the right direction.
There are a couple of Hornby collectors clubs in the UK so make sure you have the Dublo one before emailing them.
I suspect if you want to run them you will find you may have to source dublo track again your best bet is the Hornby club or evil bay UK.
This assumes you have a Dublo locomotive
You might be able to use marklin 3 rail at a pinch but I cannot guarantee that.

Sorry that this is belated…
Dublo locos are definitely DC only and there were conversion kits to make them two rail. I would think that you might be able to get away with the collection pad skating over Marklins track but you could be in trouble with the switches.
I did read that while you cannot operate DC trains on Marklins AC system, there is little or no problem with Marklin being operated with DC and there was a writeup some time ago on a guy who put Marklin type skates on Athearn units with no problem… it would have been an MR issue but some time ago!
