How Close (Or Far) Are You From The Nearest Amtrak Station?

about 8 miles to an Amtrak station, but not even 1 mile to the nearest commuter.

Two choices: about 30 minutes from Baltimore’s Penn Station, and, BWI (Baltimore Washington International) near BWI airport in Linthicum, Md., the land of 125mph trains. [;)]

About 70 miles to Denver, Colorado.

32 miles for Amtrak at Effingham,IL. 4 trains daily.

I’m about 400 metres from the nearest commuter station in Sydney, Australia, but that’s about 15000 miles from the nearest Amtrak station (San Diego?).

7 Miles 1 AMTRAK train each way Flagstaff AZ

about 10 miles to princeton, IL. 6 trains daily and if they’re on time, pretty convienent hours…early afternoon i believe for most, one or 2 late morning.

9 miles, door to door- Charlotte, NC

About 60 miles away, Maricopa, Arizona. Closest station to Phoenix.

Three Amtrak trains a week in each direction (with untrusted near complete random service times). The airport van guy who serves our town gets business about once a week to take or pick up people at Maricopa. He says there have been trips as much as eight hours off schedule. One pick up was from the eastbound train, stopped for six hours, that they could see from the station but could not pick up his off loading passengers. He found a way to communicate with a crewman using his cell phone on that one.

About 200 miles to Memphis TN station. 2 trains daily, NB or SB City of New Orleans. Police dispatch in the building, so park with the officers.

About 18 miles from either Lafayette or Crawfordsville, IN stations-if I want to take nearly 4 hours to get to Chicago, which is a 2.5 hour drive. Its frustrating to ride at 79 mph for a while, then 60, then 10 or so for miles getting through the south side of Chcago. Years ago the trip from Lafayette was 2.5 hours, now I believe schedule is over 3 hours if no delays.

About 30 miles to Bellingham WA for Amtrak – but only 8k (5m) to the nearest VIA or West Coast Express commuter station.

I’m 10 miles from the nearest station, Poplar Bluff, Texas Eagle services here every day, two times per day.

About 15 miles to the St Paul Amshack. Two trains daily. One to Chicago in the morning. and one to Seattle at night.

20 miles to Los Angeles; 30 to Fullerton. [#ditto] regarding parking (It’s $10. at Los Angeles). If I am riding Metrolink on the weekend, I go to Los Angeles in spite of the parking.

Roughly 90 miles to Atlanta. One train northbound, one train southbound.

Erik

25 miles from Atlanta-Brookwood Sta.

At home, 30 miles to Pittsburgh
At school, 25 miles to Tyrone, 30 to Huntingdon, and 40 to Altoona. Altoona is the closest I’d actually use though.

About 75 miles to Syracuse, but about 40 from VIA at Gananoque or 60 to Kingston or Brockville…

tossup between the St. Cloud station and the St. Paul depot. Both about 45 minutes away.
