How do I bring the sound volume down on my new Athearn F7?

I only drive in analog, dc, mode.

Try the web site below. It might be referring to DCC, but you can call Tony’s and find out if it is possible in analog. .

I’m not sure about the Athearns but Proto’s have a magnetic wand that you can use. Does the Athearns come with a wand as well?

The Athearn engines us a MRC sound decoder. Send an email to both Athearn and MRC to cover all the bases…

I found it!!
Its not in the Athearn instruction buts easy.

  • Remove the body. Fingernails between fueltank and skirt. In A-unit you have to unscrew the front coupler.

  • In the middle of the circuit board its a "potentimeter". I dont know if thats the right word in english, but its the only thing you can screw on there so you can`t make any mistake.

Very, very good sound and level now.
Modelrailroading is FUN!

Just rip out the speaker and bash it with a BFH. That should lower the volume.
