Floquil no longer makes Great Northern Grey-Green paint. I desperately need this color, to paint trucks and fuel tanks of an old Athearn Great Northern SDP40, and, an old Athearn Great Northern U33C. Does anybody know what colors to mix to get a correct shade of grey-green?
Thanks!
Edde

It appears that I used Scale Cote ll #S2045 and they came out pretty good. Of course it’s not acrylic. And may not be available now. The rear SD7 and front locos were factory paint.
Lee, I think he’s asking about the gray / light green used on GN steam engine boilers, not the Pullman green used on the diesels. The best person to ask would be Duane Buck, who edits the modelling section of the GNRHS quarterly. buckgnrwy@msn.com
Since he mentioned a U33C, I would think he is talking about the Big Sky Blue paint scheme. The roof and trucks/underbody were painted a special grey-green. Floquil has dropped that color from their line. I looked through the Badger Modelflex and Weaver Scalecoat listings and they do not have it either.
Unless you can find a bottle of ‘old’ stock in a LHS, you are gong to have to mix black and green paint to try to match your existing engines.
