Hello Model Railroaders I have seen a lot of concept trains in modelrailroader magazines. How do I color detail and make it so perfect to be a train that I would like. What steps should I do to complete this task.[:D][:D][:)][:)][8D][8D]
air brushing is the best way to paint a locomotive but the spray can’s of paint will do if you don’t have an airbrush…what i do is find a picture of a locomotive i want to model , then it’s time to get supplies, you’re going to need the right paint colors and thinner, masking tape, a hobby knife, (cut small straight strips on a sheet of glass for small areas to cover) and a set of locomotive decals (I use microscale decals) first, remove the shell and windows…paint the entire model with primer or a gray colored paint, then tape off the locomotive with masking tape and make sure you press it down against the model real good so the paint won’t bleed under the tape…i also add a second row of tape on top of the first…spray the model with light strokes across the entire model until it’s covered, you may have to paint it a few times in second and third coats, especially red colors until the model is throughly coated…remove the tape, and retape for additional colors in other areas, …apply the decals and spray the locomotive with dullcoat to hide the seams of the decals…chuck
What exactly are you referring to when you say ‘concept?’ Are you referring to a proposed locomotive? Or one that was actually produced, but only ever as a single prototype? Or maybe you have designed and built a locomotive of your own design?
