Sometimes the slobber gets so deep a feller has to wear hip waders. Just an observation.
huh? Did I miss something here?
I spell it the same as most…A## K-I-S-S-E-R. There is someone here with a caboose you should meet…[:-^]
S Y C O P H A N T…the same way you did. Is this a test, or is spellcheck not working on your computer?
I’m confused??
I can understand the self-seeking and flatterer, but to whom are you directing the “servile component” of sycophant?
Maybe I don’t understand because you are so much smatter than I, Dave. (said with a wink)
Obsequious minds want to know!
Gabe
Slow down guys - I am wearing out my Funk and Wagnalls!
Moo
Sycophant: syn, parasite.
I like to never found my dictionary, since I only have to use it once or twice a year.[:)]
Yeah, right; If it weren’t for CW there wouldn’ be any correctly spelled words around
here.[:)]
Found it!!!
2nd Edition Simon, Garr & Funkels New Abridged Dictionary; Over, Troubled & Waters Publishing 2004.
Sychophant (n): A pachyderm engaged in heinous anti-social, immoral or illegal behavior. Ex: That sychophant just stepped on a school bus!
Dan:
I lived to see another day when I 'splained to Mookie off forum what the Daffynition of “Ellifant Twacker” (in my best Elmer Fudd) was and now this…
priceless!

Guys, don’t read too much into this. It is just my opinion that sometimes the tendency to heap praise on certain individual(s) ad nauseum can have the effect of suppressing free expression of ideas, especially when the erstwhile disciples of said individual tend to become abusive and insulting to those who dare take a disparate course of discussion.
Gabe, I would not feign an IQ contest with you or most others on this forum. The point of this topic is focussed on aquiesence, not intelligence. Your point is well taken, though.
Uhh what is a “sycophant”?
is that like, Elephant’s brother?
Psychophant… Just a little play on words.[:P]
As a foreigner here, I’ve always just assumed that all of this was just examples of mysterious local customs in the USA. Whenever I visit I find that it takes me three or four days to adjust to all the things that are done differently, like driving on the opposite side of the road. In Australia we do things a lot differently, and sometimes more quietly. So much so that there is a suggestion of a national “cultural cringe”, particularly towards Europe. But even the birthday wishes and counting of forum stars seems strange to me!
Peter
Isn’t this an elephant who needs to visit a head shrinker?Wouldn’t he sma***he doctor’s couch into a pile of splinters?[:D]
Funny,
No one got POed when I got two or three pages of
“Atta boys” when I got five stars.
Cant remember a single negative word when Mookie made it.
Same for Jim(planestrains) and Kevinstherrman…
And many others, so…
I wonder why someone felt the need to wizz in the punch bowl this time.
Sour grapes, or just jealous?
Ed
Ed-
I’d say its both .

Thanks, Elsie & Ed, you just proved the hypothesis. Cheers!
I concur – they proved their hypotheses quite nicely.
