I was wondern if any of you guys would know how to put a decoder in a train. This will be a standard train nothing spacial i just need to know b/c im starting a layout and im using digitrax. If you can help me that would be great , TY
TY, welcome to the forum. Installation of a decoder into a locomotive requires that the motor be isolated and then various wires need to be hooked up. The method in which this is achieved and the number of wires that need to be connected will very from locomotive to locomotive. Some locos are DCC ready and you simply open them up and plug in a decoder using a special socket in the loco designed for the purpose. Others may require much more work including soldering etc. The instruction booklet that came with your loco should provide some specifics for you on this. There are several web sites with examples of installations. A good one is http://www.tcsdcc.com/installation_pictures_and_inform_index.htm
here you can look at examples of installations in HO and N.
If you can not find what you are looking for, if you post the exact brand and model that you have there may be someone here who has experience with your specific train.
Good luck and welcome to the wonderful world of DCC.
