HOW TO REMOVE A PIECE in RTS track planner

In RTS track planner can anyone tell me how to take a piece of track out? I understand the “Edit, Undo” function, but that only goes back 3 steps. How do I take out a piece that I put in long ago and replace it with a turnout?

You can make it go back more then 3 steps. I can’t rememeber if it’s in the Properties or Options settings, but you can make it go back way more then 3 steps.

In answer to your question, just disconnect both ends of the track so there’s no connections to it, then just delete it and move on.

On the bottom line of the Tool icons, below the Red Disconnect track icon, notice the sissors icon? Click on this and then put the pointer on the section of track ( Including Flex-track) you want to remove. Left click and the item will be disconnected on both ends and the pointer will be activated, with the removed piece selected. You can then either move the piece on the layout, or right click and remove the piece, if you have added the Delete function to your mouse menu. It is necessary to reclick on the Sissors icon for subsequent removals, as the “cut out” always results in re-activating the pointer. Atlas RTS is very user friendly, even if only Atlas track is in the library. Yes, I’ve used it on 1:1 rail planning projects…RetGM (1:87 trains always do what the Dispatcher sez…LOL)
