Humping now! (Mid course impressions end page 2)

My order from Hump Yard arrived today. I feel like a little kid on Christmas. I’ll be able to run trains and switch and stuff.

Thanks Art. You talked me into these a while back. I thought they would be metal though.

Looks good. I also am just hooking four of them up this week. Three need to be remote with a disconnect. so I am still inventing some of it. I hope you like them as much as I do.

Hello:

I’m intrigued by those machines. Could you give me some information on how they work, i.e. do they hook up to a switch motor or are they manual turn-out controls?

Thanks

Mike

They are manual.

You can find out more at http://www.humpyard.com/

hey they are awsome

nice layout too

do you have a link I too will like to check the throws out

Chip, call me naive, but I was fooled by the Caboose Industries ground throws. I have a box of them unopened and will likely never use them. Disappointed, but looking back, what did I want for $4 each, or whatever they were?

Along the same lines, I expected those to be metal, but your comment says otherwise…bummer.

AAH!! There they are!! I remember somewhere I saw these things but couldnt track them down! BIG THANX!!!

gotta getem gotta getem…

You can send them to me. [8D]. I’m planning on using cabooses on the Rock Ridge and Train City II.

i WAS JUST LOOKING FOR SOMETHING LIKE THIS… HEY DO THEY SELL T-SHIRTS… j

Aren’t those cables supposed to mount under the table? [%-)]

Oooh…I’m seriously thinking about using these too, I’m very curious to hear what you think.

Not metal huh…what are they made of?

What and hide those beautiful yellow cables? Why would I want to do that?

Plastic.

I’ll package up some loose ones and add them to the unopened box and have them on their way to you in a jiff if you are in agreement. I have your address.

Thanks. That’s really nice of you.

they look great !

just curious… is there any way to mount them with a bit more of the mechanism showing , they seem a bit buried in the benchwork , and if i get some i relly want to show them off a bit more

thanks…

Erie, check out the link to their site that Chip posted. They make surface mount too.

I’m sure they’re Delrin, but I wonder how well they would resist a good smack. Being long and thin, they would be easy to hit or catch on something.

Not in the least. Merely repaying a kindness from you some time back, and very glad to do it, too. [:)]

20 LEVERS ($6.50 EA) $130.00 + 6.00 SHIPPING $136.00

gulp

20 turtle switch machines $15 $300. Plus MOM switches, wiring and power supply…

I think they look cool and do the same job. Each lever can control 2 turnouts so I have 8 crossovers turnouts and 6 single turnouts controlled by 10 switches. If needed, I can use the levers for powering the frog as well. That brings them down to $5 per turnout. Unless you go ground throws for $4 a piece you’re not getting any cheaper.
