I have a dream...

I used to dream frequently about subways. But, since I built my subway layout 4 years ago, I haven’t had those dreams any more.

Last night, I dreamt I was modelling in On3.

Tell me, Dr. Freud, what does this mean? Is there some deep-seated need to change scales? Or was it just the tacos?

Dr. Freud is telling you the following:

  1. You like subways, because your alter ego is a dark and shady character which you want to express in your model railroading activities
  2. You like On3, because deep down in your heart there is a hidden trait of narrow mindedness [oops] gaugedness
  3. You like On3, because you like all things bigger than your neighbor…

Your subway model is just fantastic - so real! I love it. Keep it, in any case!!!

If you have the room an additional On3 layout could be a nice diversion from your tunnel job!

But, the On3 engine in my dream was Rio Grande. Doesn’t that just point back to the tacos I had for dinner?

Isn’t that what those narrow gauge engines burned for fuel…tacos?

Did you dream a Rio Grande narrow guage 2-8-0 was hauling subway cars inside the subway?

Well, Rio Grande did have a “Chili Line”.

To paraphrase Crocodile Dundee, 3 feet is not narrow gauge, this is narrow gauge:

Andre

I thought I had a dream about Thomas the Tank Engine running through my subway, but it turned out that it was just my 6 year old grand daughter at the throttle. She never has felt constrained by reality or rules.

So you are dreaming of On3 Rio Grande steamers whenever you eat tacos? That explains why I am always dreaming of riding along the famous Gotthard line in a SBB Ce6/8 “Crocodile” whenever I had Swiss Emmental cheese on my sandwich…

MisterBeasley - why don´t you make your dream come true and share some great pictures with us here in the forum. But I do beg you - keep the subway, master of all things on rail in the dark [bow]

Mike, is that two-foot gauge pictured above? Isn’t half-meter (less than 20") gauge narrower?:

Mark

Personally, I’d go with the tacos.

Tom

Tacos don’t make me dream - they have another effect!![:I][:O]

Best stick to coal; I don’t want to even think what taco exhaust would smell like [xx(][%-)]

Maybe western narrow gage used tacos; Maine 2 footers like Andre showed used either coal or wood as a good locomotive should. [swg]

Think biodiesel for the smell fo exhaust, lol (and seriously, I’m talking about what they can make from used frying oil etc.)

Personally, I’d ditch the tacos, keep the 3’ gauge. Dislike tex-mex food, let alone mexican food, except for cheese quesidillas and the nachos you buy at football games etc. (drives my family crazy, because we always have to go to hasrdees or McDonald’s or w/e for me before going to a tex-mex resturant (they all love the stuff, lol). I’ve debated a couple times about going to a small Nn3 set-up, but I think I’ll stick with regular N. Still, someday maybe HOn3 or Nn3, who knows.
