Yes the winter is cold sometimes [:D] But I’m used to it. The space is finished in every possible way. There is absolutely nothing I have to do. It’s so nice that I could probably live there. And it’s only maybe a 2-3 minutes walk from my home. There is even a little kitchen if I must eat in the middle of the night when I’m working there, and a toilet. But I can’t attach something to the walls because they will kill me if I do, so the benchwork must be standing on the floor. But that does not matter when I have so much space. I will build it as one big level. As soon I have the key I will take some photos of the space and post here.
I like fish [dinner]
hope it goes well for you
That is a big layout Peter, I just measured my garage it’s 1625sq ft and I’m only using 400sq ft of it and my layout is big enough!! Good luck with your project looking forward to some pics.
Ken.
Here are some pictures. I have more space then in these two pictures.
Wow [:O] Lights up and electrical outlets on the wall. You must have died and gone to train heaven.
Are we ever jealous!
I am originally from Germany and my wife from Wales. I can see one of our future stops here.
If you don’t already have it, get Basic Model Benchwork from Kalmbach books.

WHATEVER your final plans, I’d endorse THE module ‘concept’:
EASE of moving,
EASE of reconfiguring.
FITTING through doorways
May I suggest David Barrow’ 4 articles titled 'SOUTH PLAINS DISTRICT, in MR starting September '66. David suggest’s ways of module construction, DCC buss wiring (did you check out Aristocraft’s RF Throttle with Sweden’s Radio frequency assignment’s?).
David believes in 4X2’ or 4X1.5’ modules cut from sheet plywood, valance lighting, and low-maintenance trackwork.
RE your D&RGW routing: to Salt Lake: The original trackage was the 'Mofffat Rd, then
to Dotsero where it joined the D&RGW. For me, the most spectacular ride was through Gore Canyon where the Colorado River cut through the Gore Range. Find photographs.
The UP has trackage Ogden / Cheyenne/ Denver for a prototypical return loop.
