I NEED HELP!!!!

I just got my sound eqquipped BLI SD40-2 and the Quantum Engineer. The problem is the engine will not respond to the Quantum Engineer i have it hooked up to my Tech4 220. The engine sounds work but i cant control them with the QE. Also when i press any button it clicks twice is that normal? The lights flash on the QE and tech4 when a button is pressed. its all so strange PLEASE HELP ME!

Tell me how the QE is hooked up to the layout.

WELL I HOOKED IT UP TO THE POWER PACK RIGHT BUT, I HAD TO STICK THE TRACK CONNECTION IN THE RAIL JOINERS. I HAVE BACHMANN E-Z TRACK THAT COULD BE THE PROBLEM BUT I DONT KNOW I HAVENT DONE ANYTHING LIKE THIS BEFORE AND IM GETTING UPSET. THE SOUNDS WORK FINE WITH THE POWER PACK BUT NOT THE QE.

I don’t know anything about the specific problem, I have gone DCC for the sound, but I know a lot about frustration. It is more part of the hobby than anything else some days. If frustration bothers you and you don’t have some other project to distract you, it will be a big problem. I suggest building a house, weathering a box car, reading the dirrections again and trying again tomorrow.

If that does not work in two days, try starting over from scratch and following all the dirrections again. If that does not work, you may at least be able to refine the question for us here.

Good luck.

Its not fair my powerpack is fine to operate the sounds but there are dead spots on the direction switch so if i dont do the horn or bell just right the engine cuts off and starts over. Thats the reason i bought the Quantum Engineer in the first place, now im getting rid of my bachmann ez track and replacing it with atlas code 100. I hope this works because this sucks im at my moms house in Tupelo and all my things to work on buildings, etc… are at my house in Memphis this is so frusturating. I also called BLI friday but no one would answer that got me really upset i dont know what else to do!
