I must admit that’s not bad for a ‘‘DIESEL’’ but not in the same realm as a steam whistle. Also I’m amazed that there is still running a locomotive 6936, I thought they were all gone, what a great loco, almost my favorite, but not quite up to the all time great, U-50 # 37. At any rate , the horn sounds good.
Do whistles count or just them thingies on the diseasals…[:-^]

That M5 is a sweet sound horn, indeed.
QSI and Soundtraxx have M5 horns availabe in their DCC sound offerings. The QSI M5 horn version is very melodic, with a slight reverb and a nice tail-off.
I find that my ear is tuned more to enjoy the K3LA. The blaring sound just works for me better than the others. Still, it is good that at least one common horn makes you [:D] .
