Hello all! I am new to this forum and new to the hobby. I have an engine, controller, track and cars and just this weekend I bought a sizable collection at a flea market. I am trying now to sell some of the extras from the flea market find, but one of the steam engoines diud not come in the original box. Would anyone like to take a look and try to help me determine what the locomotive might be?
Can you post a photo? Refer to photo posting instructions at the top of of the Gerneral Discussion page
Joe,
First, let me say [#welcome] to the hobby, and forums.
Now, as was mentioned, we really need a photo to answer the question. Photos need to be uploaded, first, to a hosting site like photobucket, before they will post here on the forums. (Really, you are linking to the host site, like photobucket, to get the photo to show up here.)
Also of help, will be knowing what scale the locomotive is, as different manufacturers may have made the same style locomotive in different scales.

In the absence of a picture, but with the tags you had, my guess would be a Mantua/Tyco Pacific.
I understand a photo is needed, sorry I haven’t posted yet. I did not get approved for this post for a while and I got busy otherwise. I will find instructions and get it uploaded.
Okay fellas, here is the picture:
Ialso would love to get your opinion on selling some train cars I picked up as part of an estate sale.
Looks like a great model!
It is made by AHM/Rivarossi.
Sold not for much, like for around $20-25 as the final purchase price.
Charles
Wow! Thanks Charles.
No problem! [:D]

It is a nice looking model. Mine runs OK but those pizza cutter flangers limit it to Code 100 rail.

Too many of the sellers on eBay don’t realize how important clear pics of the underside of loco’s they want to sell, are. Many don’t know what they have. One seller I had contact with, advertised his loco as an Athearn Genesis, until I asked him to show a pic of the under side. It was a BB loco.
Mike.
There is one that looks like yours up for auction on Ebay right now. Current bid is $19: http://www.ebay.com/itm/Rivarossi-AHM-HO-Scale-0-6-0-Saddle-Tank-Oliver-Iron-Mining-/231827932097?hash=item35fa0583c1:g:QIUAAOSwJb9WqUWJ
Thanks for the link. I am adding it to my watch list to guage the interest. This was part of a collection I got at the flea market this past Saturday. I don’t want everything that I got. But i did get a lot of Atlas track. What is your feeling of Atlas vs Bachmann EZ track?
Post deleted. Oops … what I posted here was intended for elsewhere.

Thanks Dave. I see this was a response to my question about EZ track versus Atlas.
