identifying a track cleaning car

Well, as sure as there are little green apples, I’m going to end up putting this in the wrong category…I ended up with a track cleaning car that seems to be fairly old. It has a metal tank for cleaning fluid and a single sanding block on the bottom. (I’m sure that’s not exactly what it is but it does look like one) The name on the side is “Ribbon Rail” track cleaning car. Does anyone have an idea of who makes it? I’d love to restore it. Thanks…Jo

WELCOME ABOARD!

Doesn’t sound familar. What scale?

[#ditto]on loco3. A picture would really help if you have that capability.

The Ribbon Rail track cleaning car that I have does not use any liquid cleaning fluid. It has a track cleaning stone similar to a Bright Boy under it. The rest is just for weight.

A Bright Boy and Ribbon Rail car can scratch your track and cause it to attract more dirt. In my experience, this car does nothing as far as cleaning your track is concerned.

There was one on eBay this week. Is this it:

No identifying mfgr. info there, however. Your mystery continues.

I would repaint it with the roadname “Maidservice”[:o)][:D]
sounds interesting, an oldie but a goodie
