Great job on the review. I am glad Hornby has provided some great upgrades to the locomotive as it was difficult to install decoders in the original models. I am also glad that the book my father and Walt Casler created is still the “go to” book in reference to the locomotive. Thank you for the wonderful insight to this unique product.
I have been pondering adding a geared loco recently and this one looks like a nice add However in watching the video of the Hornby Heilser I noticed that in that a few of the shots the rear coupler was almost disengaged due to coupler hight variation with the front coupler on the lead car. There was no mention if the couplers matched NMRA standard of not, so I am wondering is this an issue with the coupler height on the loco or on your car?
