I’ve been researching the Prescott & eastern and the Bradshaw Mountain Railway. Both subdivisions of the Santa Fe RR in Arizona.
I could use some help finding photos of locos and rollingstock and maps that would show the track plans of a few of the towns. like Crown King, Mayer, Poland and Poland Junction.
I am also interested in talking to anyone who Lives in the area and would like to explore and trace the old right-of-way.
I think you’ll find what you want in railroad historian David Myrick’s “Railroads of Arizona” series – I think there are five volumes in all. The publisher, at least of the later volumes, is Signature Press, an advertiser in MODEL RAILROADER and “Trains.”
Happy holidays,
Andy
Thanks Andy, I’ll Look into that…
I also located a couple of people that were around this area before the P&E was abandened , who are eager to share their stories.
I used to live in AZ. There was a book about this railroad in the Tempe public library. I’m not sure if Dewey is anywhere near Tempe however. I model the Magma Az RR out of Superior.
I’m about 80 miles north of Tempe, but I do get down that way once in a while.
