I am trying to install the Railmaster Bass DSM8 which is supposed to fit in narrow hood units. Even though I cut the lugs off and removed the headlight and number board inserts I can’t get it to fit. I am using the Soundtrax TSUAT1000 that is plug and play for the Atlat GP7 and snaps onto the Atlas lugs on top of the motor.
I can get the speaker to fit in the shell but there is not enough vertical clearance to get the shell back on the frame…
I can put the numberboards in without the headlight inserts as was planning to use surface mount LEDs for the headlights anyway.
Has anyone had success with this application? I refuse to take out one of the flywheels. I think I must need a smaller speaker or perhaps the Tsunami board will have to be moved forward and the Atlas lugs that would normally snap in teh TSU board will have to be cut off to make the TSU board lie lower? Perhaps my problem is in trying to get the plug and play board to work with this speaker-- either use a smaller speaker or move the TSU board, or get a smaller Tsunami decoder to allow enough room for this speaker?
