Instructions on how to Ignore a user and their posts

  1. Click on their user name in any post in the thread of the person to ignore.
  2. Click on the MORE+ button on the top center right of screen.
  3. Click on the NORMAL button upper right for the drop down list.
  4. Select Ignore.

This should be pinned and should stop a lot of the arguments as well as the wondering off in the weeds with the discussion as now you can customize your experience here and this is retroactive as well.

Also, folks need to stop bothering the Moderators and flagging posts (whomever is doing that). There is no excuse for either now.

I wish I could take credit for this but someone else led me to it.

OK, on an iPhone you click and hold on the user name in a post as above, until you hear a click.. In the resulting pane, there is a gray bar at upper right with the ‘bell’ icon in it, and the selected option (‘normal’ is the default). Click this and the notification types drop down – you can choose ‘muted’ or, further down, ‘ignore’.

Anyone on here can always ignore posts and you don’t need a program to do so. Just use your own brain.

But this would stop all the “fun”. :face_with_spiral_eyes:

Too many people around here enjoy administering their views and opinions to others in suppository form for the chaos to stop. That’s why I’m outta here. The “Is it time to buy NS?” thread getting locked was the last straw. I put too much time, effort, and thought into my posts to watch Type A jerks piss it all away.

Exactly, we’re all big boys and girls here. If you don’t like somebody’s posts either scroll past them or click on their profile and hit ignore instead of crying to Nanny.

See you in a week.

That was a joke: lots of people say they’re leaving but come back pretty quick.

I think the problem is the forum has so little traffic that any posts that stir up discussion go nuts.

Oh my CH2, Surely you’re not against AI. Use it and forget about BRAIN drain, that gives me a headache. Just sayin’ endmrw0903251359

Nobody is against a discussion that I know of.
Breaking Forum rules? Yes there are members doing so and know they are doing.
Moderators are only doing their job.
If you do not like it, MOVE ON.

There aren’t enough ‘emoticons’ available under the heart. Not everything should be some form of congratulations.

Chuck, agree not enough emoticons.
What is NorthBrits problem?
CH2 and I are friends, my comment about AI was a joke.
Personally, I imeadiately took CMStPnP’s advise and used his suggestion. Proud he posted it.
Hope all is well there w/you and yours endmrw0903251535

Agree, Its normal discussion forum drama. I guess it stems from the movie Gone with the Wind…not sure though.

I read nearly ever post unless it is overtly political. I have learned a lot from those that have perspectives that differ from mine.
