The Cedar Rapids, a parlor-observation car, is now owned by the Friends of the 261. They loaned it for a summer to Milwaukee’s lakefront art museum several years ago when the museum offered a comprehensive exhibit of the design work of Brooks Stevens. My sister and I enjoyed riding in it during a charter trip pulled by the California Zephyr about a year ago. Our train was detoured on the UP route over Sherman Hill because of flood damage on the former D&RGW line in Colorado.
