Is anyone building Z scale layouts?

A short video of my Z scale layout that is being built in an electric guitar case.
The track is MTL and Marklin, the trains AZL

That is simply amazing.

Santa Fe all the way!

Good evening,
The track that goes around the suitcase with a radius of 145 mm. The AZL cars are a little too long for this curvature, I had to file the steps at the end of the cars a little to increase the clearance of the trucks.

OH MY GOODNESS!

That is too cool.

Some other pictures of this project with the rolling stock and the few locomotives. The ABA Union Pacific coupling is from Marklin, bought in France at a low price because it was broken. After disassembly, complete cleaning and electrical rewiring everything works correctly with a slight noise from the engine, but I have noticed this on many older Marklin locomotives.

Nice photos, very nice layout. I really like that third photo.

nice layouts , but z is to small for my old eyes. LOL

I am trying to imagine a Z scale layout in my HO scale space, 42’ x25’.

Rich

WOW I could not imagine that big of a space for z scale.

Just a thought. If you have a N scale layout you could have a narrow gauge layout in as well using z gauge track.

For a guy like me in HO scale, it would probably be unrealistic to convert to Z scale, but maybe N scale would be an option.

Why would I want to do that? To take advantage of a large space with a smaller scale, For that same reason, while I would love to return to the S gauge (American Flyer) of my youth, that would mean less trains and track than HO scale.

First world problems!
