Is it just me...

…Or does Jamie from Mythbusters use Kadee Reverse Action Tweezers and the coupler pin adjuster tool?

Check for yourself

Not to mention a ton of other useful tools.

Definitely the KD coupler pin pliers

It sure looks like it to me. Thanks for an interesting video. BTW: I used to drive by their “shop” when I was in San Francisco but never saw any show being filmed—not even sure if they are still in SF?

Surgeons were using reverse-action tweezers (for sutures) before the Edwards brothers were born. As for the other, I traded off something similar acquired in a junk sale back when Kadee couplers had vertical pins and used a live diamond ramp to uncouple.

Very similar tools, granted - but I wouldn’t bet that Kadee was the source.

Okay, Chuck.

Wayne, they are still in SF, and still filming actively. The magic lies inside the shop. Once, my family (minus me) was driving by, saw Jamie enter the door, went up and knocked, and got a picture of them with him in front and a signed photo. Remember, this was without me, so imagine how ARG![:(!][}:)][banghead][soapbox][:'(][sigh][|(] I felt for being at a college class at the time.

Well it is unfortunate that you missed out on the photo, but the good news is that you were in college. I’m sure you know the value of an education, it is something that you will cherish the rest of your life. Enjoy.

The tweezers look like an Archer product I bought years ago as a soldering aid - just as Jamie said in the video. Can’t tell about the pliers.

Enjoy

Kadee trip pin pliers weren’t invented for Kadee couplers, either. They’re used by jewelers for ring forming.

The reverse action tweezers are not a Kadee product – I have several different sizes that I bought at Harbor Freight and Micro-Mark. The Kadee trip-pin pliers, as others have written, are not an exclusive Kadee product, either, but are actually a jeweler’s tool…
