Hi I am new here. I am NOT really a train enthusiast. I have just signed up here and I am looking for a classified section to sell some trains. I know this sounds fishy, a newbie trying so sell some stuff raises red flags.
My Uncle, who lived in England, was a deep lover of HO/OO model trains, just passed away and I have inherrited some of his trains. I don’t really want to keep them all, so I am looking for a way to sell some of them. I have already sold a few on Ebay, but that is not my first choice. I would rather list them someware like here and sell them. These are all English models like HST’s Class 37s, 33s, 47s, 91s, 60s, 90s ect. I have pictures of them all so I can email a pic to someone who might be interested.
Hello. We have no open selling and buying of merchandise here as it is against the policies. However, if you look way down at the small print at the bottom of the page, you will see one of the links is to a classified ads section. There are instructions there if you wish to place an ad.
Sorry, but you’re not allowed to advertise here. From the rules:
No advertising. Our forums should not be used as an advertising medium for companies who want to promote their business or products, or by individual who want to promote their items for sale or their eBay auctions. Our users are the drivers behind this policy. They don’t want the useful information in our forums watered down with posts that are nothing more than advertisements.
Other than eBay, I don’t know where you’d sell them.
Another option would be to find a train shop in your area, and see if they would be interested in selling them for you on consignment. Of course, they’re going to take some percentage of the profit, and it may take a while to go through the inventory.
What you have is kind of a specialized collection, so there won’t be a lot of people looking for this sort of thing. You might try contacting the European Train Enthusiasts at http://www.ete.org/ to see if anyone there might be interested. I’m not sure if they have a chapter in your area, but if they do, they would be a good target audience.
