HAHA ok I no longer work in Baghdad (Iraq) were my summer was a cool 140 Now I work on Shemya Island AK were we are in the mid 30’s and still getting rain mixed with snow Any one know how to change my screen name? Baghdad no longer fits.
So Baghdad firefighter, how’s the edge of the world looking? I tried changing my screen name a long time ago but I think you have to start all over again I think. Good luck up and out there.
Back when PanAm was still flying around the world, I left chilly, foggy SFO wearing winter uniform. We landed in chilly, drizzle-shrouded Tokyo International (Haneda) and spent a while in the unheated transient’s lounge while the bird was refueled. In Hong Kong, we de-planed into slightly uncomfortable warmth.
When we landed at Bangkok, I saw puddles on the ramp and heavy mist. Passengers continuing on were urged to remain aboard. I, and my traveling companions, didn’t have that option.
I stepped out of the aircraft door - and into the boiler room of Hades! That mist was steam! Inside the terminal, the thermometer registered 45 degrees C, and nobody had to tell us that the humidity was 100%. That, without doubt, was the worst heat I have ever encountered. (I have since been in places where the temperature was higher, but had had a chance to get acclimatized gradually.)

If you ever been here you know it is always cold but getting better
The last place on earth were you can see tomorrow,
Looks like I just have to start over sucks but
HEdward,
Welcome to New jersey… You are from overseas, If I recall…? I don’t quite remember but I guess you are taking a trip. Bloomfield isn’t too far from me. If you were here on Friday you got soaked with the rest of us. It gets better though, hopefully we will finally have some nicer weather. If you are visiting hope you are having a good trip.
Speaking of AC: Ever since BG&E jacked up their rates 70% last year [and destroyed my mrr budget[:(!]], we only turn it on when we absolutely must - like when it hits around mid-90’s.
Used to live there, never yet got an electric bill as high as I got out there in the summer with just one air conditioner unit. We moved to the bay area after we were out visting one Jan. and it was 75 in the park and minus 5 in Baltimore.
