Who want’s to get the ball rolling
Well I guess my good news is that I have a job which means that I have money now to buy stuff. Making $8.00 an hour working for the school district here in the custodial department. My first check was $465. My next one somewhere around $560.
I have to save some, but while I can I’m going to buy some stuff. At least 2 locos then probably send in for my Accurail numbers and probably buy a few kits as well.
About 2 months ago, I was asked to go to Cincinatti for a consultancy job. I booked my flights and was all content about my trip that was to run from today (i leave for the airport in an hour) returning home on Thursday. A couple of weeks later, I realized too late, after booking my tickets, that the National train show started the next day! Less than an hour after I realized my bad planning, I got a call from my customer begging me to stay for a meeting Friday morning[:D] So, I am staying an extra night, they pay for my hotel and ticket changes and guess what I will be doing on Friday afternoon!!
I’m no longer an Ebay virgin [:I]
Recently my first two auctions closed for much higher than I expected.
I feel okay about that.
Great News?
Well, not to get off topic here, but the greatest news I know of is that God sent His Son into the world to give us the option of life forever with Him. Now that’s some GREAT news.
JIM, happy buying, i hope you get some great loco’s, love the pics on your web site
SIMON, have fun at the train show[tup]
AGGRO, congrats on losing your Ebay virginity, [:D] i just put a load of engineering equipment on Ebay, hope they make more than i expect
Looks like I’ll be getting a new basement in a month or so…but since I’ve been working on my current layout for three years now, that’s sort of good news/bad news…
Simon Great news on the train show! I used to live in Columbus, that would have only been a 1 hour drive for me. no good train shows near Tenn. Sigh… Let us know how it was.
I just finished my 20’ by 20’ out building for my new layout! I set up a quick 4 by 8 just to see my trains run and and adjust all the McHenry couplers I installed over the winter.
Pretty happy with them.
Anybody know how to get spiders to spin prototypical webs in desireable places. Or better yet a good barrier chemical to keep them out?
The wife and I just purchased a new home over the holiday weekend and i’ve got the office to myself for the next two weeks,no pesky coworkers or person in charge to annoy me.
grande man Amen the best news in the world!!

What a great idea!
Lance Armstrong is kicking international butt so far in the Tour de France. [tup]
My highly successful younger brother, a home builder and renovation contractor in Vancouver, saw my layout for the first time this past weekend and was very pleased with it. He gave me a big hug, and was happy…a bit amazed, too, I think. [:D] Happily, he left behind a $50 gift certificate made out in my name for the LHS.
Middle daughter is graduating top of her class in a Dental Inter-oral Assistant class. The top pediatric oral surgeon in Ottawa has snapped her up already! [:D][^]
My youngest daughter has had a persistent problem with her female plumbing that was getting very worrisome due to prognosis. Happily, it seems suddenly to have lost interest, and her last check-up is clear. [:)][tup][tup][tup] (Always save the best for last.)
I’ve started another of my scratch built structures and I’m now getting in the groove with these n scale structures. It has more details that the first ones. I’ll be posting the pics tomorrow to show its development.
I am purchasing my first HO brass loco, a Akane AC8-12 (this discription was supplied by the seller). Does anyone know about this particular make cab forward loco.

My dog just learned after 9 years that it has a tail. It’s been chasing it all weekend. They say animals take after their masters. Hmmm…
Hmm… Great news to share… Well, I did sound and DJed for my nephew’s wedding last saturday. The high point of the party was when all the groomsmen decided to go skinny dipping in Canandaigua Lake (luckily well after dark). Actually it was a great bit of fun (the party, not the skinny dipping). My family had the funeral service and calling hours for my Mother on Saturday and we are all still speaking to each other (by the grace of you know who). And, my son from Chicago who happily was back home for all the festivities took a look at the Southern Tier of New York Mountain Ice House operation I have been working on since last fall and said, “Wow Dad! That looks just like some of the mountains near Binghamton”. I just grinned and said, “Thanks!” It was a great compliment since he had no idea where the setting was supposed to be. [:D]
i finally got a picture to download on here. My girlfriend said “your acting like a kid in a candy store.” Now maybe I can put my layout on it.
Somebody’s bound to do it so here goes.
I just switched to GEICO and saved a bunch of money I’ll spend on E-Bay.

Yep, good news, indeed!
And the largest train layout’s in heaven, you know. [;)]
Says in Isaiah: “The Lord’s train fills the temple.” Now that’s one BIG layout! [:D]
10-4 on that Grande Man!
My news is that I’m joining the Suncoast Model Railroaders Club. Great guys, and two huge layouts (one HO the other N). Layouts run on both DC and DCC, but the shift is moving towards DCC.
