I wouldn’t expect the ICE train coming from Germany to leave on time, Jim, Deutsche Bahn is known for it delays.
Indeed, Deutsche Bahn is plagged with delays and disgrunted employees. One of the most mismanaged railways in Europe since it’s creation in 1994. Riding behind Deutsche Bundesbahn high wheeled Class 01 4-6-2s in 1965 was much more fun to a young teenage Texas GI than a late late ICE train in 2014!
Jim, in Basel SBB station you were just six streetcar/tram stops from my home in Binningen, Switzerland, where I’ve lived for 24 years. I’ve been getting Trains for about twice that. German and even Swiss trains can be late, but on Sunday November 23 Deutsche Bahn and the Czech Railways got me from Basel to Prague in 13 hours and on time to the minute.
