Hi Ladies & Gentlemen, it is the very merry month of May, the Lilac are in bloom, Songbirds are singing their little hearts out and the Swallows have finally arrived – all a treat to see.
I am always very interested to learn about Diesel Loco Servicing Facilities and have finally decided on the Sand Towers that I hope to use.
My friend picked these up for me at a hobby shop local to him, at some incredible prices, about $200 for this whole group, so big thanks to him for picking these up and bringing them to me when we saw each other at Ops til you Drop in Syracuse!
I’ve never knowingly seen a Gondola like that Ed.
I’ll have to keep a lookout for one in a YouTube vid.
I can see strength advantages in vertical Ribs, as per a Boxcar.
Who markets this particular example, please. (If it is Scratch-built, I apologise)
Paul.
As far as I can tell it was only imported by Overland Models. There may be a resin alternative out there but I’m not aware of it. I wonder if enough modelers hound a 3D printing outfit such as 3D Central would result in a more economical example?
Hi Jimmy,
I’ve got nothing to show, set in the post 2000 era.
Raking-out Turnouts from my stock of Atlas Code 83, I found this Single Slip Point that I had acquired sometime ago - with the intention of using it, one day.
I had no idea that Atlas/Roco had ever made these products and I wondered if it were DCC ‘friendly’ or not, judging by the configuration of connectors in the Tie-base?
Can anyone show any other type of ‘not seen too often’, manufactured model railroad product, please?
Paul.
This treads been sleeping too long. Time to wake it up!
Much to my suprise, Atlas came out with a limited run of TC&W. It’s a small railroad with only 360 miles of track. Immediately two were puchased for my brother, and two fir me.
Twin Cities & Western is a rare model to have, let alone find one anymore.
TC&W is in affiliation with RRV&W (Red River Valley & Western) with 500 miles of track, over in Brother Lion’s neck of the woods.
Hi Batman, I don’t have any Steam Locos and hence no Water Towers.
So I decided to show some more Freight Roster photos.
Here are some Bachmann HO models of 100T, 3-Bay Hoppers, with a Built date of 1968 - so I reckon that whilst dated, they can squeeze-in up to 2010+ or even longer if used for MOW or Internal Trains only.
The models are from the ‘Silver Series’, they have some nice features and are extremely ‘Free-running’. I bought these at an Exhibition, for a good price but more - because I liked them.
Please show some more Locos or Freight Roster stock, from any era - including rakes of stock and also, any that might have a had a prolonged life due to special or re-purposed duties, or some item of stock that you are especially fond of and simply do not want to let go.
Paul.
Atlas HO 17.360 Gallon Tank Car PPG #1508
I like the variety of these older liveries.
Please show me some other model or item on your Railroad, finished in ‘Red’.
Paul.
