ey guys if u want to join another forum please join this http://ace1983.proboards79.com/ we are looking for Mod’s and new members Thanks Guys, Dan
Men only club?
It’s ok - my feelings aren’t easily hurt. But it brings up a point.
I hate being waited on by a younger person and having them say “Hi Guys!”. Or "Can I get “You Guys” something else. Just wanted to bring up a sore hangnail while it was right in front of me!
Proceed with your request.
Jen
Oh Mook, you know he didnt mean anything by that. And even when im talking to girls i say “come on guys!” Alec
COME ALL OF ANY GENDER…there
I hope u guys joined
I wasn’t picking on him in particular - it is just that “guys” is such a unflattering term. Would someone look at a group of good-looking young ladies and say - …
Yeah they would. Never mind!
Ok - picture your Grandpa and Grandma eating out and some gorgeous hunk comes to the table and sez Hi Guys. Grandpa growls at him as he restrains Grandma that this is my wife, not a guy.
Grandma is oblivious.
Moo…
Did I miss something??
What is your site planning to offer that I can’t get here? Is it a specialized forum? Will I achieve Rail Enlightenment if I join? I’m not sure I see the purpose of joining a group that will more than likely be copy of this one in miniature form (an N scale forum?)
You are so right, Mookie, about the guys, they sure would, I hear waitresses do it all the time, to say nothing of a whole lot of other people of both genders working in service fields. They think its normal and proper and see nothing wrong with it. A friend of mine, who teaches middle school, tells me I have no idea what’s coming but it sure scares him!!!
OK OK forgive me but this is getting a little off topic For all u females and males and It is a good upcoming forum
Ahhhhck. It’s just another one of those “proboard” forums. Most turn into a chatroom or a flamefest. They’re “Forums for Everybody!” forums. Everyone with the urge to chat has one.

Well For all those who would like to Join MSTS Fans and Trainz anybody that fans any failroad we would love to have u join Please guys/girls
Mook, as someone who travels quite a bit and frequents restaurants a lot I know how frustrating the “you guys” chant can be…whether YOU are of the male or female persuasion. Antoher one I really can’t stand is when you hear “no problem” when you ask for something. Hey, it damn well better be “no problem” when a cusotmer asks for something! How about substituting “coming right up, sir/mam” or perhaps “I’d be glad to get that for you sir/mam” or something similar. Wow, it feels good to get that off my chest.
Easy solution to the “you guys” problem: get all these folks to use the old reliable “y’all”;
“Hey, y’all”, “Can I get y’all some tea”, Are y’all ready to order", “Do y’all want to join this forum”, etc.
Problem solved!
Thant’s why we invented the contraction, about 200 years ago!!
/Bill

[#ditto] and my personal pet peeve, “Have a Good One!”
One WHAT? Good day? Good Day at the track? Good B.[censored]? When you walk out to the filight line and the plane captain says “Have A GOod One”, there is some context, and its pretty easy to figure out what they mean. When a clerk says it, what do they really mean?
Amen, brother! Glad to see another Southerner around (I can tell from proper spelling and usage of “y’all”). Y’all come back now, you hear.
So this is only for people that are fans of bankrupt lines? Or are merged railroads OK, too? How about modellers (Enron Pacific)?
