K-Line Interurbans Questions

I have the K-Line PRSL 15" Interurbans. The powered unit is K2780-6781. The instructions in the box are for K-Line Diesel locos. I assume the electronics are the same, so they just put these instructions in the box. I run conventional. The sounds are Lionel RailSounds.

There is a switch on the bottom with with two choices: parallel or series. What are these settings for?

The instructions say that one can install a 9v battery, but I can find no connections inside

the car for that. Is that not an option for this car?

Does anyone else have this car? Any suggestions on operation?

Merry Christmas!

Just looking for some advice, if anyone knows.

Merry Christmas!

I don’t know that car; but the series-parallel switch sure seems like it gives you a choice of wiring the motors in series or parallel. This would optimize it for slow-speed or high-speed operation, respectively. (Real locomotives also have this capability–it’s called “transition”.)

K-Line wired a lot of stuff for future up-dates that never happened, like the battery wire or adapter or the instructions cover up to five differant versions of a production run for the reverse units and instructions are for those that have all the features and not just one or two features.

I have a K-Line GG-1 that has the wiring harness for TMCC update but would cost too much to be cost effective for me to have TMCC put in at this time.
