Kadee large scale RC couplers

uncoupling in a car is a good idea hope there come a versionn in HO . Then I hope it works( not like MTH coupler)
Remote uncoupler technology had to start somewhere and the market as well as comments submitted already will determine where we go from here. Although Rome wasn’t built in a day the high tech miniaturized circuits and demand for reliability by users today should bring us (miniature model railroad builders) a product that is dependable and scale enough to suit the need and budget of nearly all of us. We’ve done without them this long, what’s a few more years going to hurt?
Sounds like a great idea for a public display model. Would it be possible for a DCC version to be produced using the existing controller and coding the coupler as a DCC device?
Remote uncoupling is a great idea, but Kadee’s is a bit expensive and can only be done with large scale couplers. I wonder if SHAPE-MEMORY ALLOY WIRE might be a simpler and less expensive way to uncouple. When this wire is heated, perhaps with a current from the tracks, it changes shape and this bending might be enough to open a coupler.
