I’ll be in Kansas City with two days (Tuesday and Wednesday) to explore. Please tell me about any layouts or hobby shops I could visit.
First, a visit to Union Station is worth it. They have a large room of train layouts in just about every scale. They also have an elevated bridge over the tracks that makes great viewing if you happen to be there when Amtrak stops.
Near Union Station is the Crown Center, and in the Center is Fritz’s Railroad Restaurant. Your meal is delivered to your table by a pretty neat system of overhead trains.

Midwest Model Railroad is probably the best model railroad shop I’ve seen. It’s definitely worth a visit.
