How do I get the body off of the frame.? Also can I put a prepainted Athern SW7 body on this chasis?
Boy. I have a couple, but it has been a while since I’ve done this. I believe the cab comes off easily. If I remember correctly, the body is held on by inward dipples on the inside of the sides of the shell. These protrusions stick into the case frame. Simply get a small screw driver between the shell and the side of the frame and gently pry the shell away from the frame and lift the body off the frame. You do not have to flex the body away from the shell very much, so don’t over do it and damage the shell.
I think that there is a download or link on the Kato website for this.

Don’t forget to remove the couplers first. It looks like they are body mounted and they should clear during removal, but I found it easier to remove them prior to pulling up on the shell.
Yes there are convex dimples on the frame that fit in concave holes in the car body. Kato claims that the removal is simple and does have a set of instuctions and pictures on their website. I still had to use a screwdriver gently to get mine off and then I filed off the dimples so it slips on and off now. It about drove me nuts trying to figure it out.
