Kato Platform question

I spend most of my over at the Trainsmag forum but I’m starting my own N scale model Railroad. I love Amtrack so I’m planning on Buying some Kato superliners and Kato platforms but I’m not sure if the platform would block the superliner doors and look unrealistic. Thanks for any input.[8D]

I don’t do N-scale and have little knowledge of the products you are speaking
of, but you could certainly raise the track to a level that would permit your platform
to be at the correct relative height and therefore appear right. Just a thought.[swg]

IIRC, the KATO platforms are of the ‘high’ type. The SuperLiner cars have a very low door just above rail height(even lower than the steps on conventional passenger cars).

The Kato platforms are designed for use with Japanese prototype equipment, which has doors on a matching level and no way (short of jumping) to get down to a low platform.

Do the prototype Superliners operate out of stations with high platforms, with high-level as well as low level doors, or are they strictly low level? If the latter, the Kato platforms really aren’t very suitable.
