thank you, later, the after posting, i remembered a book i saw and located the dda40x. it was made by emd in 1969. it was basically two gp40’s and it was powered by 2 turbo 16v-645e engines producing 4923kw (6600hp). it was part of union pacific’s 6900 “centennial” series. 6936 is the only one left, seeing duty in passenger excursions and some freight operations.
