Hi! Been a while since i was on here,as you know im building a Western Pacific empire, with interchanges between U.P and S.P.,but my biggest problem is getting some plans/schematics so i can do a decent representation of the Keddie Wye.Any help would be greatly appreciated. thanks mick
Since you got my curiosity aroused, I Googled Keddie Wye. The first few entries include a number of photos that show the steel trestles in considerable detail. Then there’s this one:
http://www.midwestnpioneer.org/west/keddie.html (bad link)
A nicely done model version which comes up fine from the Google page or the link in the next post.
I also used Google Maps to check out the lay of the land, including the horseshoe shaped yard just east of the wye. Between the main, the branch and the east leg of the wye itself there are enough tunnels in the area to keep a mole happy!
Hope this helps.

Chuck,
For some reason, the URL of the link you posted doesn’t match up with the text (links to “ww” vice “www,” which returns an error). The correct link is:
http://www.midwestnpioneer.org/west/keddie.html
By the way, there was an article in the 2006 Model Railroad Planning (one of the MR Special Issues) about doing the Keddie Wye in 4x8. The title of the article is “Landmark Scenes in 4x8.”
Thanks, Dan.
I had edited to correct, but apparently the edit didn’t change the original bad code.
I would love to be able to justify modeling the Keddie Wye, but reality intervenes. Guess I’ll have to settle for plain-Jane deck girder spans on masonry piers, since that matches my prototype’s practices.

I change crews there on the BNSF when I come off the High Line. If there are any schematics or blue prints on that thing I would love to see them!
