Hello Train Fanatics. I Have been looking all over the Internet trying to find Kirkwood Missouri Radio Scanner Frequencies, but I never find what I am looking for. I just get Missouri Frequencies, and not Kirkwood Frequencies. I was hoping that the Radio Scanner Masters (which of course is all of you) could give me some frequencies that I could use for my Scanner. Thank you, and enjoy scanning Trains.
When I go into a new area where I do not know the frequencies used by the railroad, I have an easy way to find them.
The Association of American Railroads have 90 channels between the frequencies of 160.215 mHz. and 161.565. I set my scanner to search between these two frequencies. Whenever I hear a transmission, I write the frequency down. After a time, I will have a list of frequencies used in the area. I then program the frequencies I have written down into my scanner.
Since my scanner is used primarily (if not exclusively) for railroad action, the AAR channel numbers correspond to the channel numbers on the scanner, with a few dozen left over.
Having said that, UP uses AAR Channel 74 (161.220) through Kirkwood.
