Knott’s Berry Farm celebrates 60th anniversary of its railroad

Whoa…woe----d’ya mean that the engs. aren’t painted orange or green and off-white like they were in the late 1950’s. Did they lose the fake diamond-stacks also?
Woe, woe.
To be fair tho’ my balance can be questioned, the "goose, was it No 6, wasn’t hoked-up…looking real and good.
My recollections originated during a dinner-stop going home after riding the last “blimp” car trip.

Ridden those trains many a time as a young man. Glad to hear they are still around. Most memorable trip…John Wayne at the throttle! !!

I seem to recall that because the oli company that my Dad worked for supplied petroleum products for the Knott’s Berry
Farm Railroad, my family was on one of the first train rides around the park. We ride every time we re-visit the Farm. What fun.

Rode those trains many times prior to the new ownership. Am very pleased that the new ownership has continued using them. Will return to ride them this summer.

I remember riding that train in the 50’s and 60’s. People are crazy though. Several times when Walt was alive they brought out the Gooose and customers conplained they didn’t want to ride it. The customers thought it was a special built gimmick that Knott concocted.

Good story,I like stories based on past history.
