Does anybody use the above camera to shoot trains with? If so,how do you like it for that? I 've looked at some of the big photography sites ( KenRockwell and DPReview ) but niether of them really address what we do. Any thoughts?
I read the review at DPR. This camera
certainly appears capable for most types
of photography, although there appear
to be some focus issues at long zoom
and in low light.
Also, the burst mode of 1.3 to 2.0 frames per second
could be better.
However, if you cannot afford a DSLR, this camera
should fulfill most of your photographic
requirements.
I already have the Easyshare printer dock ( my wife gave it to me as a Christmas present ) I was thinking that this camera might be a lower cost alternative to a DSLR since I am not into buying a collection of lenses. Also, it would allow me to use the printer dock that I already have. I just thought if someone already tried one of these and didn’t like it for some reason, that would be useful information to have in advance of any purchase.
Thanks for the info. I looked at some of your albums and you do really good work. I’ll look up the review of the Olympus FE-110 at DPR and KenRockwell.
This is for Overall:
You might look at Digital Photography Reviews, www.dpreview.com/reviews/ or Steves Digicams, www.steves_digicams.com/hardware_reviews.html for information and the specifications for this camera. you can then take that information, and compare your photography needs with the P 880’s capabilities, and decide for yourself. you might also compare the reviews with the Kodak P 880 with the reviews for either the Pentax or the Nikon lines of digital SLR’s to see if the Kodak P880 will do for you, and what you can get if you use a digital SLR.
One of the most important features of any digital camera is that it should capture the image quickly, and rapidly write to its buffer so that the train doesn’t go 100 miles down the tracks before you fini***aking the picture.
