I am looking for L&N cabooses for sale in the 1950’s era. I found some collector one’s but am looking for some to run on operating sessions not the expensive brass type for collectors. Any help would be great.
Thanks, Rob

What’s wrong with brass? I have several brass cabooses that I run as well as the brass locos to pull them with.
Brass is built to operate!
But regarding your original question, I believe that Wright Track offers some L&N wood cabooses. If you’re looking for bay windowed cabooses, I think WT has some, and there’s probably some in brass. Otherwise, you’ll probably have to paint and decal another bay window, to get a “good enough”.
Thank you for your reply. There is nothing wrong with brass however it is a bit too expensive for my taste. I saw where someone wanted 120.00 for a brass HO caboose. Would like to keep it no more than 40.00 per unit sense I will need several. I will look up Wright Track. Thank you, Rob
I would also do a google search on L&N Cabooses. as Wright Track stuff isn’t that cheap. Also check AMB, American Model Builders, I think they may have the caboose known as the “Woodie”.
What I have done for some of my Southern cabooses, is to turn something not quite close enough, into something closer by some simple kitbashing. While they are not a perfect match, they do convey the feeling that it is a SRR caboose.
Gidday Rob, a bit more than your price range but…
