They really did save the best for last.

Hello BNSF and CSXT, do you copy?

I guess they save the best for last!!! I am now over my sour grapes that the PC unit, an afterthought btw, got finished first… Hope to see it someday pass through Bound Brook.

Don’t want to sound ungrateful because NS didn’t have to do this at all… BUT, I wish they would have done the Erie Lackawanna - The EL; love the diamond EL insignia…

Thanks again tho to NS for doing this at all!

Agree - BNSF & CSXT - show your colors! And CSXT - Why don’t you come up with a new name worthy of your heritage? And - I would hope that UP & NS will continue turning out fallen flags…they are great advertising& build community ties…& AMTRAK would gather a lot of attention (& ridership) if they dressed the Capitol Limited in B& O Colors with B&O food in the diner…or the Lake Shore Limited in NYC Lightning Stripes!

Lets just have a great time shooting these locos while the paint is in new condition. And yse I think that CSX and BNSF should do this also. Great PR for the companies and it can also help people be more aware at grade crossings.

Again, thanks to NS for a great gesture. I have seen three of the heritage units and they look great! This program along with the return of steam excursions shows that NS has a sense of its history, and is led by people who love trains as much as they love to make money. Thanks again NS.

When in college back in the early 50’s, I commuted to the campus behind the Fairbanks-Morse 851-859 Train Masters many many times on the Boonton Branch. I recall a lot of maintenance problems with them. Those colors bring back memories.

As Logan said, NS did not need to do this at all, so be thankful and remember, not all people that work for the railroad are railfans.

That said, maybe one of the PC models in the basement might need the white frame stripe!

Another beauty! Another rolling lesson in our nation’s rail history. Kudos, NS!

The DL&W was a great road (as was the Erie). Both are sorely missed.

As a train buff and a native of Scranton, it’s great to see this loco in DLW livery. Reminds me of my father’s stories of how he used to travel from Scranton out to the midwest to visit car factories; he’d have a compartment, have a nice dinner, sleep overnight, wake up refreshed, have breakfast, step off the train and take a quick cab ride to his destination. No hotel, much easier trip then flying.
